ITU-T SG20

From November 23 to December 6, 2019, the last meeting of Study Group 20 of the International Telecommunication Union was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Members of the UTN were present at the discussions.

Study Group 20 is responsible for the development of standardization in the field of Internet of Things and Smart Cities. Within the framework of ICT development, the UTN is actively working for the advancement and implementation of these technologies in Argentina.

In this context of ICT boom, Argentina can take an important role and position itself internationally by participating in the standardization of technologies. For this purpose it is essential to be present at the union meetings to carry out the relevant negotiations.

The last meeting in Geneva was attended by the UTN San Nicolás Ing. Juan Pablo Martín and the student Guillermo A. González Conosciuto, the UTN Resistencia Ing. Diego Bolatti and the UTN Santa Fé Ing. Walter Justet.

During the course of the meeting, UTN participants were working and discussing issues related to Security in IoT, Smart City Indicators (KPIs), smart buildings, smart measurements, internet of industrial things, among others. The UTN acquired a large presence in the global sphere and established important links with other countries for Argentine technological development.

In this meeting Ing. Juan Pablo Martín was elected vice president of the regional group of the study commission 20, Ing. Walter Justet was appointed Editor of the draft Recommendation Y.Sup-SSC-UCE "Use Cases on implemented or evaluated SSC solutions based on ITU-T Y.4900 Recommendation Series" de la comisión de estudio.
