Associate Editor to Q2/20

During the last meeting of Study Group 20 of the ITU Standardization Sector, held from 13 to 23 March in Dubai, Arab Emirates discussed issues of Internet of Things and Smart Cities. The GICom actively participated in the meetings and focused on Question 2 of the group, where Eng. Juan Pablo Martín was proposed and accepted as Associate Editor to that Question. This milestone places the research group, Regional Faculty and University in a strategic place, since by being part of the management team it is possible to have a detailed knowledge of all the documents that the group generates since its proposal. In addition, it increases the exchange with international experts who discuss the issues under discussion and generates new interpersonal relationships that are valuable for the whole community. On the other hand, two contributions were presented in the same direction that were approved and included in the draft of a New international recommendation. The content proposed by GICom includes a study of electromagnetic compatibility of wearable devices and hospital equipment and also about the permitted levels of radiation so that these devices do not present risks to people's health.

News is expected in the coming months regarding the approval of the draft recommendations in which the team is working. All of the above hierarchizes the research group and enhances future work, opening up promising research and development possibilities.
